Wizkid’s ‘Piece of My Heart’ Breaks New Record on YouTube Nigeria

Wizkid’s latest single, “Piece of My Heart,” is shattering streaming records. Released on October 18, 2024, the track features Brent Faiyaz and has seen remarkable success across various streaming platforms, continuing to set new benchmarks.
In a significant achievement, “Piece of My Heart” has become the song with the highest weekly streams on YouTube Nigeria, accumulating 1.20 million streams. This impressive figure surpasses the previous record of 1.18 million streams held by Fireboy’s “Peru” remix featuring Ed Sheeran.

This milestone follows the single’s record-breaking debut on Spotify Nigeria, where it achieved the largest opening day streams, exceeding the record he previously shared with Asake’s “MMS.” Notably, “Piece of My Heart” is also the first song from any African country to reach 1 million opening day streams on Spotify.

Wizkid’s latest release highlights his status as one of Nigeria’s most commercially successful artists and underscores the increasing prominence of streaming services in Nigeria, particularly YouTube, which remains a leading digital platform in the country.
The single marks the beginning of the “Morayo” era for the Grammy-winning artist, who is set to release his highly anticipated sixth album on November 22, 2024.
