In January 2025, UK immigration enforcement teams arrested 609 individuals during visits to over 800 premises, marking a 73% increase from January 2024.

This surge aligns with Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s strategy to combat undocumented migration and dismantle people-smuggling networks.

Home Secretary Yvette Cooper emphasized that employers exploiting illegal migrants will face consequences. The government is also advancing the Border Security, Asylum, and Immigration Bill, aiming to enhance law enforcement capabilities against smuggling operations.
