Speed Darlington Appears In Court

Nigerian hip-hop artist Speed Darlington, who fans sometimes referred to as Akpi, has been arraigned in court as announced by his counsel, Deji Adeyanju. 

Deji Adeyanju announced on Wednesday that the court moved and granted his client Akpi’s bail application. The team is working to perfect the bail for his release from custody.

Akpi is still held in custody despite orders from the court that he should be freed. He was charged with criminal defamation and libel concerning a controversial video he published online.

The situation has sparked mixed reactions; some accuse Burna Boy of orchestrating Akpi’s arrest using the police, while others argue Akpi should have sued Burna Boy instead of posting the video. 

The situation has garnered mixed reactions from netizens; some people faulted popular Afrobeats singer Burna Boy as responsible for Akpi’s arrest and detention, while others said Speed Darlington should have sued Burna Boy instead of publishing the video.

Others also queued behind Burna Boy as they said his action against Akpi was justified.
