Singer Portable Charged To Court Over Assault

Nigerian songwriter and singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known by his stage name Portable, has been arraigned by the Ogun State Police Command on Thursday at the Isabo High Court in Abeokuta, part of Ogun State.

The media reported that the singer was declared wanted by the Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, for allegedly assaulting three staff members from the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA).

He later surrendered himself at the Lagos State Police Command in response to being declared wanted and was later transferred to the Ogun State Police Command.

The controversial singer was reported to have attacked staff members of the Ogun Planning and Development Permit Authority (OGPDPA) who attempted to seal his bar over permit violations.

Nine of his associates were later arrested and detained for charges that bordered on felony, obstruction, assault, armed violation, and intention to kill.
