Obasa Returns To Abuja After Failed Attempt To See Tinubu In UAE
Reporters have gathered that the impeached speaker of the Lagos State Assembly, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Obasa, has returned to Nigeria and is currently in the FCT.
Obasa flew into the country from the United Arab Emirates, where he had earlier moved from Atlanta in the United States to have the ears of President Tinubu but was unsuccessful.
Those who saw the Agege State Constituency representative at an Abuja airport reported that he was seated gently at the arrival hall without his usual entourage of staff and security operatives.
Obasa moved out of the country on January 8 to Atalanta with some of his loyal members in the Lagos State House of Assembly, including the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, who has also been removed.
Another report says that Obasa, to get a soft landing, left the other members in Atalanta to see the president. He has since returned to the country and is still in Abuja to see if it will be possible to meet the president.
The Agege man was impeached as the Speaker of the House of Assembly by 32 of the other 40 members.
The same day he was impeached, the members of the Lagos State Assembly unanimously elected the former Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly. She has also visited the governor and the Governor’s Advisory Council, while she and her other principal officers have gained support from structures, including local council chairmen
