Man Detained for Allegedly Setting Wife on Fire Following Argument in Ogun State

A 55-year-old man, Olubunmi Johnson, was apprehended by the Ogun State police for allegedly setting his wife, Kikelomo, on fire.

The incident occurred on Friday night at around 8:30 PM at their residence on Fagbuyi Street in Ilogbo, Ota.

Reports suggest that the couple had an argument, after which Johnson allegedly doused Kikelomo with petrol and set her on fire with a match.

The victim’s relatives informed the police, while bystanders quickly took her to the hospital for medical care.

Ogun State Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed Johnson’s arrest and stated that an investigation into the attempted murder is ongoing.
