Kano REMASAB Deputy MD Returns ₦4.7 Million Mistakenly Credited to His Account

Alhaji Lamin Muktar Hassan, Deputy Managing Director of the Kano State Refuse Management and Environmental Agency (REMASAB), has returned over ₦4.7 million mistakenly deposited into his bank account by the state government.

Initially, Hassan believed the funds represented his January 2025 salary. However, upon reviewing the transaction, he realized the amount was over 85% higher than his usual monthly earnings.

Hassan, appointed by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, had faced months of delayed salaries before receiving his arrears in December 2024. The same amount was mistakenly credited again in January 2025, excluding his actual salary for the month.

Demonstrating integrity, Hassan promptly returned the funds to the government.
