Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, has mandated all staff of the state to resume regular Monday-to-Friday work arrangements.

In February of last year, the Lagos State governor permitted the remote work arrangement that allows a junior cadre of civil servants to work from their office just two days every week while working from their home for the remainder of three days. While civil servants of the senior cadre continue to resume office daily.

The arrangement was introduced by Mr Sanwo-olu to reduce the economic effect of the Federal Government’s petrol subsidy removal.

In the circular by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, titled; “Cancellation of the Work from Home Initiative in the Lagos State Public Service,” it was stated that the new directive was sequel to the implementation of the new minimum wage by the state government.
