Fuel Attendant Allegedly Steals ₦2.5 Million in Port Harcourt Just 48 Hours Into New Job

A Nigerian lady has recounted a surprising incident involving a fuel station attendant in Port Harcourt who allegedly stole ₦2.5 million just 48 hours after being hired.

According to her, the attendant was newly employed at the station but disappeared with the significant sum shortly after starting work.

In a post on X, she detailed how the employer, upon discovering the theft, reached out to the attendant’s parents, hoping they could help recover the funds or locate their son.

Surprisingly, rather than assisting, the parents reportedly told him to leave their home and confiscated his phone to prevent any tracking efforts.

She wrote:

“A friend who manages a fuel station hired a pump attendant in Port Harcourt. On his second day, he made off with ₦2.5 million.”

“His parents were informed in hopes they’d help recover the funds or apprehend him, but instead, they advised him to leave and took his phone to avoid tracking. Are the parents accountable?”
