Federal Government Approves Establishment Of Polytechnic In Abuja Named After President Tinubu

The federal government has approved the establishment of a new federal polytechnic to be built in the federal capital, Abuja, which will be named after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The announcement was confirmed in a letter sent by the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, to the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, on January 9.
The yet-to-be-built higher institution will be built to promote vocational training and technology, one that aligns with the policy of the federal government of ensuring a federal polytechnic in all the states in the country.
The education minister, in his letter to the FCT minister, seeks a suitable location in Gwarinpa for the institution’s temporary and permanent sites.
The sites will be inspected by both the Ministry of Education and NBTE with possible consideration for taking over an already established tertiary institution. There is a plan for the NBTE to address important issues and promote polytechnic education.
“Our polytechnic system must be the engine that drives Nigeria’s economic development and industrial growth,” the NBTE Executive Secretary said.
