Diezani Alison-Madueke, a former minister of petroleum, has prayed to the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to halt the decision of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to sell her seized properties.

Her counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), also seeks the court to ask for the retrieval of any of her assets that have been sold.

The former minister who served under the administration of Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the president insisted on her right to a fair hearing, selling her assets based on forfeiture orders obtained without her knowing.

Diezani revealed that she was not served any charges; neither did she receive a summons from any court. She accused the EFCC of misrepresentation while she insisted that the forfeiture orders were not obtained legally.

The anti-graft agency began auctioning her properties.
