Davido Shatters Record for Africa’s Most-Watched TikTok Live Stream

Afrobeats icon, David Adeleke—known to fans worldwide as Davido—has made history by setting a new record for the most-watched TikTok live stream in Africa, amassing a remarkable 389,800 viewers. This milestone was achieved on Wednesday, October 30, during a live session co-hosted by TikTok influencers Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq.

At its peak, Davido’s broadcast attracted over 164,000 concurrent viewers, and fans showered him with over 377 “lion” gifts, each valued at $400. True to his spirit of generosity, Davido announced that the proceeds from these gifts would be shared with his co-hosts, Peller, Jarvis, and Jo Blaq.

Previously, Peller held the title for Africa’s most-watched TikTok live stream—a record achieved with Afrobeats superstar Tiwa Savage—until Davido’s historic stream eclipsed it.
