Davido declares, “I’m living proof of a successful person after school.”
Renowned musician Davido recently shared insights into his post-school journey to success, emphasizing that success can come in many forms. Speaking at the 2024 LAS annual summit, he highlighted how the topic “Life after school” resonated deeply with him, given his achievements in music following his graduation from Babcock University.
“I relate a lot to this topic,” Davido explained. “I’m living proof of a successful person after school. I didn’t go the traditional route of using a CV—I went straight into entertainment. But I also have friends, siblings, and my father, who has a company and a school where students graduate.”
Davido described how his family supported his choice to pursue music, allowing him to take a break during his five-year university journey to focus on his passion. “In my family, you typically go straight into work after school—whether with my dad or elsewhere. I was the one who took a different path,” he shared.
Reflecting on the diversity of success, Davido observed that it arrives sooner for some than others. “I’ve seen people in my circle work hard, with some finding quick success, while others climb the ladder over time. Success after school looks different for everyone,” he concluded.
