Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ Joins Elite Ranks with Top RIAA Certification!

Burna Boy’s ‘Love, Damini’ Hits 500,000 Sales Milestone, Secures RIAA Gold Certification!

Burna Boy’s Grammy-nominated album has officially sold 500,000 units in the United States. Titled ‘Love, Damini,’ this marks the Nigerian superstar’s sixth studio album, showcasing hit records that have solidified his status as one of Africa’s foremost musical exports.

Released in 2022, ‘Love, Damini’ has achieved this impressive sales figure, earning it an RIAA Gold plaque. The album’s success is largely attributed to standout tracks like ‘Last Last,’ which spent several weeks on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 44.

Collaborations like ‘For My Hand’ featuring Grammy-winning British artist Ed Sheeran, along with guest appearances from J Hus, J Balvin, and Khalid, have further propelled the album’s international acclaim.

With this latest achievement, ‘Love, Damini’ joins the ranks of other notable Nigerian albums, including Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos,’ Rema’s ‘Raves & Roses (Ultra),’ and Tems’ ‘For Broken Ears,’ all of which have also received RIAA Gold certification.

A shared characteristic among these albums is their collection of hit records that made significant strides on the Billboard Hot 100. For instance, Wizkid’s ‘Made In Lagos’ features the hit ‘Essence’ remix with Tems and Justin Bieber, which peaked at No. 9. Rema’s ‘Raves & Roses (Ultra)’ gave rise to the global hit ‘Calm Down’ with Selena Gomez, achieving a record-setting No. 3 peak, while Tems’ ‘For Broken Ears’ includes the smash hit ‘Free Mind,’ which also enjoyed an extended stay on the chart.
