American rapper Lil Durk may face the death penalty due to his involvement in a murder-for-hire plot.

Lil Durk has been arrested in connection with a murder-for-hire plot. The Chicago rapper was taken into custody on October 24, 2024, just days after receiving the Keys to the Village of Broadview and Bellwood for his contributions to those communities.

His arrest is linked to the murder of Quando Rondo’s cousin, allegedly carried out in retaliation for the killing of rapper King Von, who was associated with Durk’s OTF (Only The Family) crew. Following King Von’s death, it is alleged that Lil Durk offered money and lucrative music opportunities to anyone willing to kill Quando Rondo.

According to the indictment, in August 2022, a gunman opened fire on Quando Rondo, whose real name is Terrell Bowman, while he was at a gas station in West Hollywood with his sister and cousin. Rondo and his sister were unharmed, but his cousin, 24-year-old Saviay’a Robinson, was shot multiple times and died.

Lil Durk was arrested alongside five other members of the OTF crew, all facing charges of murder-for-hire and the use of a deadly weapon in a murder, which could result in life imprisonment or even the death penalty.

Durk joins a growing list of famous American rappers facing criminal charges, following Atlanta rapper Young Thug, who is currently on trial for RICO charges.
